About the Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in the year 2009.Mechanical Engineering graduates have wide employment opportunities in manufacturing industries, power sectors, process plants and R & D organizations and software industries. Interested graduates can pursue higher studies in convenient discipline such as Machine Design and Analysis, Industrial Design, Thermal Engineering, Manufacturing Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy studies and Information Technology etc. On successful completion of under graduate courses one can be absorbed in reputed organizations or Academic Institutions. The four year B.Tech courses include Energy Conversion and Power Systems, Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids and Stress Analysis, Manufacturing Science, Industrial Engineering, Automatic Controls and Engineering Design. Laboratory experience is considered to be an important part of the mechanical engineering programme. Mechanical workshop has various types of lathes, Milling , Drilling, shaping, grinding machines, etc. The welding shop consists of gas welding, arc welding and TIG & MIG welding equipments. The material testing lab is equipped with universal testing machine, hardness testing machine.
